With the latest PlayStation State of Play wrapped up, it’s time for Lords of Gaming to go over every announcement at the event!
Monster Hunter Wilds – New Trailer
Kicking off the State of Play, is a new trailer for Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds. The trailers shows off the game’s many locations to explore, monsters to hunt, and the game’s dynamic combat in action. In addition, some story moments are sprinkled throughout the trailer. It ends with teaser for the first free update, launching in Spring 2025.
Shinboi: Art of Vengeance – Gameplay Trailer
Gameplay for the Shinobi revival, originally announced a year or so ago, was revealed. Beautiful hand-drawn visuals joins polished action combat. Shinboi: Art of Vengance is coming to PlayStation 4 & 5 on August 29th, 2025.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds – Gameplay Trailer
SEGA reveals a new trailer for Sonic Racing CrossRoads. It reveals that Sonic and friends are racing across various courses inspired by Sonic titles like Secret Rings, Frontiers, and Adventure 2. The core gameplay seems similar to prior Sonic kart racers like Team Sonic Racing and the will have a Closed Network Test on February 21st on PS4 and PS5.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger – Reveal Trailer
A new RPG Digimon was announced. Continuing the turn-based combat from prior Digimon Story titles, the game is set for a 2025 release on PlayStation 5.
Lost Soul Aside – Gameplay & Release Trailer
The solo-developed action/adventure got a new trailer, showing off epic action gameplay and exploration. The game looks fantastic, running at a smooth 60FPS from the trailer footage and the combat looks frantic and fun.
Lost Soul Aside will release on PlayStation 5 and PC on May 30th.
Like a Dragon X Dave the Diver Collaboration
Dave the Diver will be receiving a DLC pack that crosses over the world of Like a Dragon into it’s sea-fairing adventures. Called ‘Ichiban’s Holiday Content Pack’, it will include new recipes, appearances from other Like a Dragon characters, and even some side-scrolling beat ’em up sections. It will release on April 2025 on PS4 and PS5.

WWE 2K25 – ‘The Island Mode’ Revealed
Borderlands 4 – New Trailer
2K Games and Gearbox showed up at the State of Play with a new trailer for Borderlands 4. The looter shooter showed off some of the games explosive arsenal, locations to explore, and some of the new enemies players will gun down.
The game is still set for a September 23rd. A special State of Play for Borderlands 4 is also on the way.
Split Fiction – Story Trailer
A new trailer for the EA Original and Hazelight Split Fiction was shown off, giving more insight on the two main characters and their personalities.
Directive 8020: A Dark Pictures Game – Announcement Trailer
A new project from Supermassive games, creators of Unti Dawn, was revealed at the State of Play. Taking place on a space station, it has a crew working together to survive an alien encounter and themselves. Directive 8020: A Dark Pictures Game will launch on PlayStation 5 October 2nd.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic – Reveal Trailer
Steel Wool Studios announced a new installment in the Five Nights in Freddy’s series. This first person horror adventure has your character explore while the iconic Fazbear mascots hunt you down. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic will release on June 13th on PS4 and PS5.
The Midnight Walk – Gameplay/Release Date Trailer
A new trailer for The Midnight Walk was revealed, giving an additional look at the horrifying claymation world players will explore. Melding exploration with minor shooting, this beautiful looking nightmare is set for release on PS5 and PS VR May 8th.
Darwins Paradox – Reveal Trailer
Konami revealed a puzzle platforming adventure called Darwins Paradox, set for release on PS5 in 2025.
Warriors: Abyss – Reveal & Launch Trailer
Koei-Tecmo revealed a rouge-lite spin-off on the legendary Warriors series. It releases on PS4 and PS5 today.
Onimusha 2 HD & Way of the Sword Updates
A new trailer for the HD remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurari’s Destiny was revealed, alongside a new trailer for the 2026 release Way of the Sword.
Featuring gameplay captured on PC, Way of the Sword impresses with striking visuals, a 60FPS target, and exciting combat for players to master. Players could use their environment to assist in combat, with the player using tables and other objects to push foes back.
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater – Release Date Trailer
A new trailer for the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake was shown off, highlighting upgrading visuals for iconic moments from the legendary title. It will release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on August 8th.
Trailer ends with the iconic Ape Escape monkey’s showing up, with the Snake vs. Monkey Mode exclusive to the PS5 and PC version of the game. Konami teased that a Bomberman mode will be coming to Xbox players after the State of Play.
Hell is Us – Release Date Trailer
Hell is Us got a new trailer, announcing it’s release date. The game will release on PS5 September 4th.
Lies of P: Overture – DLC Reveal Trailer
A new DLC expansion for Lies of P was revealed, showing off a new location and a new playable character. Lies of P: Overture will release Summer 2025.
Dreams of Another – Announcement Trailer
Pixel Junk revealed a new project, where the player shoots objects to bring them back to life. Sporting a striking art style, Dreams of Another is set for a 2025 release on PS5 and PS VR2.
Days Gone Remastered – Reveal & Release Date Trailer
Announced at the State of Play, Bend Studios Days Gone gets a remaster supporting PS5 Pro and offering new modes for players to enjoy. If you own the game digitally on PS4, the PS5 version is a $10 upgrade. In addition, the new modes will be coming to PC through ‘Broken Road’ DLC Pack.
Stellar Blade – Nikke DLC and PC Release Date
Both a DLC collaboration with the Nikke series and a PC release for Shift Up’s Stellar Blade will release June 2025.
PlayStation Plus Updates
During the State of Play, it was revealed that Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Top Spin 2K 25, and Lost Records: Bloom and Rage will be coming to the PS Plus Extra & Premium Tiers. Worth noting that Lost Records: Bloom and Rage is a day-one release on PS Plus Extra.
Indie games Blue Prince and Abonic Factor will launch day-on on PlayStation Plus. For the Classics Catalog, the first three Armored Core titles will join the service soon, alongside Patapon 3 later in February 2025.
Tides of Annihilation – Reveal Trailer
A new action/adventure title was announced at the State of Play. Featuring a female protagonist, action combat similar to Final Fantasy XVI, and being able to conjure up an AI partner to help out, the game looks very impressive.
It is currently in development for PlayStation 5, with no planed release date listed.
Metal Eden – Reveal Trailer
First person shooter Metal Eden was revealed, showing off a mixture of creative weaponry and wall-running action. The Deep Silver published shooter is set for a May 6th release on PS5.
MindsEye – Reveal Trailer
Snros – Reveal Trailer
Housemarque revealed a new IP, called Snros in a cinematic reveal trailer. It has a release window of 2026. The developer’s describe the game as an evolution from their prior work on Returnal, promising a gamepaly reveal will be shared later in 2025.
