PlayStation London Studio, known for VR titles such as PlayStation VR Worlds and Blood and Truth, has upcoming internships in January 2023. These are courtesy of their “Player One Programme,” the studio’s first-ever internship program.

The internships represent a paid opportunity to learn how to develop games at Sony London, and they offer three roles – tech intern, design intern, and production intern. The good news is that the qualifications to apply are relatively minimal, with almost no experience needed.

All you need is a cover letter, a portfolio (for tech and design placements), and answers to four short questions in order to apply. The application will be open with listed roles on Sony London’s jobs page, starting after 5 PM on Friday, September 2nd, and ending at 10 AM on Monday, September 12th.

The internship itself will last 12 months, and placements will start the following January. After it ends, Sony London will offer junior positions at their studio based on the internship type. The job is not remote, so you must either reside in London or relocate in consideration for the offered roles. The internship is also paid, with an offer of £25,000 per annum and a discretionary bonus. Sony London will also provide an allowance of £2,812 to help with travel expenses.

This internship program could be a great start if you want to enter the gaming industry. Rarely does PlayStation offer internships like this, especially with such a low barrier of entry. Information about the internship process and FAQs is also on Sony London’s website
