The soulsborne genre has been rapidly growing over the past decade. From Software struck gold with its formula and continues to grow and expand with each new title. There have been plenty of games that have copied this established formula. Some have been good, and others not so much. Lies Of P from developers Neowiz was received well by critics. It’s steampunk-esque retelling of the classic story of Pinnochio. Combined with hard-hitting combat has made it a winner with many Souls fans.
Today, it was announced that Lies Of P has sold over 1 million copies since its launch. It officially launched on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on September 18th, 2023. Additionally, it launched day and date in Xbox Game Pass. With Lies Of P already selling a million copies just after being released for just under a month. It marks the most successful launch for developer Neowiz ever. Undoubtedly, the game will continue to sell as good word of mouth continues to spread across social media. It will be interesting to see what type of game Neowiz will create next now that Lies Of P is a glowing success. Only time will tell, but it is safe to say the company has to be impressed with its success so far.
