In an official Press Release, SEGA and Dotemu say the following on this Steam bundle.

SEGA and Dotemu have teamed up to release a ‘Path of the Ninja’ Steam bundle, celebrating two iconic ninja franchises, SHINOBI and NINJA GAIDEN. The bundle offers the two biggest ninja games of the year, the acclaimed SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance (87 on Metacritic) and NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound (84 on Metacritic) at a 10% discount.

More ninjas, more action, more incredible gameplay. Whether embracing your rage or showing the art of your vengeance, play as two legendary ninjas and challenge yourself in these thrilling 2D platformer games. The ‘Path of the Ninja’ Bundle is available for purchase on Steam HERE.

What is Shinobi: Art of Vengeance?

Starting with Shinboi: Art of Vengeance, SEGA and Lizardcube revive iconic ninja magic, combining multiple elements. Joe Musashi’s latest adventure combines stunning hand-drawn art, engaging platforming that evokes memories of games like Ori: Will of the Wisps, callbacks to prior Shinobi adventures, and a fantastic implementation of Metroidvania elements.

Here’s what Lords of Gaming’s very own Subeg said regarding the title in his glowing review:

Art of Vengeance is a triumphant return for the series. Leveling up the formula with excellent traversal and combat. Its richly layered, hand-drawn backgrounds are as inviting as they are detailed. Lizardcube has modernized the series while honoring its 1987 roots, forging a fresh path for Joe Musashi that respects the lessons and legacy of their peers and predecessors. Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is sharp, fluid, and pure, and a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern design.

An Never-Ending Battle – SEGA Villains DLC Pack

The battle continues in future DLC releasing in 2026, with three legendary SEGA villains testing their might against Joe Musashi.

Starting with Sonic the Hedgehog’s Dr. Eggman, two other SEGA villains join the title.

What is Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound?

Joining Shinobi in the bundle is the second of a trifecta of Ninja Gaiden adventures releasing in 2025. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound sees the franchise return to its NES roots, featuring tight 2D platforming with two playable characters. Developed by the team behind Blasphemous, the game features stunning sprite artwork and quality platforming.

Lords of Gaming’s very own Subeg played the free demo of Ragebound, which you can read his full thoughts on the experience here.

From the Shadows – Ninja Gaiden 4

While Ragebound is out now, that’s the only ninja action to enjoy. Ninja Gaiden 4 from Microsoft, Team Ninja, and Platinum Games is releasing on October 21st on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. You can learn more about the game below, with an in-depth interview with the team behind the project alongside hands-on impressions from the Iron Lords.

Closing Thoughts on Path of the Ninja Bundle

If you told me early this year that we would see the return of not only Shinobi but Ninja Gaiden, I would have laughed at you. But seeing two legendary ninja franchises having fantastic return-to-form releases is amazing.
