Now that Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined is out for everyone, including you, the person reading this article, you are about to embark on a very long journey. It is going to be whimsical and fun, but a long one nonetheless, and any tips on getting the most out of your journey ahead are no doubt going to be welcome. Below will be 7 easy-to-follow tips and tricks for beginners. Starting with…

1. Always Loot Every Single House
From the get-go, you need to remember that there is going to be a lot of loot in every location in the game. But it is not going to be just relegated to chests within the game. There are tons of things to open and break that will give you anything from herbs, weapons, armor, and more. So make sure to look for and interact with the following:
- Dressers.
- Endtables.
- Pots.
- Barrels.
- Shining spots on the ground.
2. Continuously Level up in Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined
Yeah, this sounds like a no-brainer. But it is essential that you stay and grind out levels. Enemy and boss levels will constantly rise throughout the game. With that in mind, so should you. When entering a dungeon of any kind in Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined that has monsters, stay and grind for a while. You should always want to leave and move on when you can instantly kill all enemies with the slash mechanic on the world map.
3. Auto-Battle When Grinding
Similar to the tip above, if grinding gets boring, do what I did and take advantage of the auto-battle feature. While it may sound bad to have to let the game play for you, trust it, it takes the boredom away. The auto-battle feature is smart; it will use abilities, spells, and even healing abilities to keep everyone alive. Trust me, lean on it!
4. Wait Until You Unlock Dual Vocations to Swap Your First One
This is going to sound confusing. But when you unlock the ability to change your vocations, it will be during a time when you need your current ones maxed out. So, with this in mind, I recommend not changing your vocations until you unlock the ability to have 2 different ones equipped. This will allow you to keep the abilities you rely on while unlocking new ones via a second vocation. You will even get bonus vocation points for that unlevelled vocation after each battle.

5. Upgrade Equipment Often
This is standard procedure for JRPGs in general, and Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined is no exception. Considering how often you will be grinding, make sure to spend some of the gold you get on new weapons, armor, and equipment. A lot of the endgame stuff can be found in later dungeons, sure, but you will need at least some good gear before hitting that point.
6. Defend When Bosses Become Furious
This is a tip specific to combat, and well, bosses. Similar to your party members, bosses can get worked up or become furious. During this stage in fights against them, they will be very aggressive and be able to knock out anyone. Be sure to defend often against them when they are furious to weather the storm, so to speak.
7. Always Look for Fragments Beyond the Colored Ones
Finally, throughout the game, there are other tablet fragments beyond the colored ones that take you to islands that are important to the main story. There will be silver, gold, and gray tablet fragments littered throughout the world. So, be sure to keep an eye out for them; some will be on your map as you explore. Just make sure to explore every nook and cranny to find them!

But that wraps up our tips and tricks for Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined. I hope this helps you on your long journey ahead!
