Resolution Games Expands Tactical Depth with New Warlock Class, Frozen Adventure, and Hireling Overhaul

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked continues to evolve, and now Resolution Games is pushing things even further with its latest major content drop, the Warlock Update. Not only does this update introduce a brand-new playable class, but it also delivers a challenging One Shot adventure, expanded language support, and a major redesign of core gameplay systems. As a result, Battlemarked strengthens its position as one of the most ambitious cross-platform co-op tactical RPGs available today, especially with full cross-play across Steam, PlayStation, and Meta Quest.

Warlock Update – Key Highlights

Here are some of the highlights regarding the latest update:

  • New Playable Hero: Azruss Drevontir (Warlock class)
  • New One-Shot Adventure: Auril’s Cradle
  • Frozen Side Quest: Unlock the Warlock permanently
  • Expanded Language Support: Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional)
  • Major Gameplay Change: Hirelings fully removed (Phase 2 redesign)
  • Full Cross-Play: PC, PlayStation, and XR platforms

A New Hero Emerges: Meet the Warlock

First and foremost, the highlight of this update is Azruss Drevontir. It’s a fully playable Warlock hero built around risk-reward gameplay and high-impact decision-making.

Unlike other classes, the Warlock leans heavily into tension and calculated risk. Specifically, players will:

  • Uses eldritch, pact-based magic
  • Focuses on battlefield control and volatile power
  • Rewards precise coordination and bold strategies

To unlock the Warlock, players must complete a new Frozen North side quest. Once completed, the class becomes permanently available across all future campaigns. Because of this, the Warlock immediately adds a darker and more tactical layer to party composition.

Auril’s Cradle One-Shot Raises the Stakes

In addition to the new class, Resolution Games introduces a high-difficulty One Shot adventure: “Auril’s Cradle.”

What to Expect:

  • Designed as a punishing tactical challenge
  • No selectable difficulty modes at launch
  • Unlockable after progressing through the second campaign (Ythryn)
  • High replayability with dynamic threats and strategic variation

Even without difficulty modifiers, Auril’s Cradle is positioned as one of the toughest experiences in Battlemarked, pushing players to master teamwork and decision-making under pressure. Experienced players will truly be able to test their mettle.

Expanding the Realms: New Language Support

Resolution Games is continuing to grow Battlemarked globally with expanded localization options:

  • Italian
  • Brazilian Portuguese
  • Chinese (Simplified & Traditional)

Because of these additions, more players worldwide can jump in, communicate effectively, and enjoy co-op adventures together.

Major Gameplay Shift: Hirelings Removed

One of the most impactful changes comes from Phase 2 of the Hirelings Redesign. Many people have been clamoring for this one so they can use other heroes. Here’s what to expect.

What Changed:

  • Hirelings have been completely removed
  • Only player-created heroes are now allowed in parties

Why It Matters:

  • Reinforces player agency
  • Strengthens co-op strategy and teamwork
  • Ensures every character in play is actively controlled by a player

Previously, hirelings filled gaps in party composition. However, this update removes that safety net entirely. As a result, players must now communicate more effectively and think several moves ahead.

A Living World That Keeps Growing

According to Resolution Games CEO Tommy Palm:

“The Warlock introduces a class built around tension, temptation, and tactical risk… This is about deepening the fantasy and continuing to build Battlemarked into a living world.”

Clearly, the team isn’t just adding content. They’re actively shaping how players interact with the game long-term.

Platform Availability

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is available now for $29.99 USD on:

  • Steam (PC & Mac, including PCVR)
  • PlayStation 5 (PS VR2 supported)
  • Meta Quest

One of the best things for fans is that full cross-play is supported across all platforms.

The Pact Is Sealed: Battlemarked Evolves Again

The Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked Warlock Update is more than just new content. It’s a major evolution of Battlemarked’s core gameplay philosophy. With the addition of a high-risk Warlock class, a brutally challenging One Shot, and the complete removal of hirelings, Resolution Games is doubling down on player-driven strategy and cooperative depth.

I am one of the many fans of tactical RPGs and Dungeons & Dragons. I can tell you this update makes Battlemarked feel more alive and more demanding than ever. And as the residential Battlemarked guy, you can bet I will be diving right in this one!
