The Xbox Partner Preview for March 2026 was a stacked 30-minute showcase that covered 19 games, featured 7 world premieres, and sent Game Pass subscribers home very happy. With 14 titles confirmed for the service, including some genuinely awesome announcements, this was one of the stronger Partner Previews Xbox has put on. It also does real work toward Xbox’s goal of 75+ Day One Game Pass releases per year, and crucially, the quality is keeping pace with the quantity.
Stranger Than Heaven
- RGG Studio’s new standalone action-adventure is confirmed for Xbox Game Pass Day One
- The new trailer revealed for the first time that the game spans five different time periods across five unique cities
- An “Xbox Presents: A Special Look at Stranger Than Heaven” broadcast is set for May 6, promising a deeper dive into the world, story, and characters
Stranger Than Heaven was the show-stealer. The new trailer pulled back the curtain further than anything we’d seen before, showcasing the life simulation systems that give the world its texture alongside the kind of brutal, grounded combat that signals RGG Studio is operating in a completely different register from Like a Dragon. The Game Pass announcement is a massive surprise though. This is the kind of prestige third-party title that gives the service serious value. Xbox also announced a special look at Stranger Than Heaven premiering May 6, 2026 which means we won’t have to wait long to see even more.
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn
- Owlcat Games’ third-person action-RPG set in James S.A. Corey’s universe is confirmed for Xbox Game Pass
- A beta is arriving April 22, 2026, ahead of a Spring 2027 release window
- Players build a custom Captain, assemble a crew, and navigate a solar system on the brink of collapse
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn looked stunning. Branching dialogue trees, deep skill systems, and sci-fi combat that absolutely delivers on the Mass Effect-style promise made it one of the most impressive gameplay showcases of the entire show. The Game Pass announcement is equally huge and another big surprise. The 2027 release window is a slight sting, but if Owlcat needs the time to cook up something truly special, there’s no reason to complain.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope
- The first major story expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was officially announced with a first-look trailer
- The DLC centers on the conflict between two iconic Zone factions—Duty and Freedom—and features the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant among its new locations
- GSC Game World estimates more than 20 hours of new story content, arriving Summer 2026
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope looks like a meaty expansion that gives one of 2024’s most talked-about releases a reason to pull people back in. Over 20 hours of story content built around the Duty and Freedom faction conflict is exactly what fans were hoping to see, and the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant as a new location is a genuinely exciting setting.
The Eternal Life of Goldman
- A hand-drawn platformer from a whimsical fairytale-inspired world, confirmed for Xbox Game Pass Day One
- Players control Goldman, armed with a trusty cane and unique abilities, on a quest to slay a mysterious creature called The Deity
- A free demo is available right now ahead of its 2026 release
The Eternal Life of Goldman is a highly anticipated indie, and the Game Pass announcement was another great way to get this game into more hands. The hand-drawn, frame-by-frame art style gives it an immediately distinctive look. The beautifully ethereal world, tight platforming and inventive cane-swinging combat make for this to be 2026’s Silksong. The fact that a demo is already live makes it easy to see what all the fuss is about.
Dispatch
- AdHoc Studio’s episodic superhero narrative game is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC this Summer
- Players manage a team of reformed villain-turned-superheroes as the retired Mecha Man from a dispatcher desk
- The full episode collection arrives as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, though no Game Pass announcement was made
Dispatch was one of the best games of 2025, and it’s great to see it finally making its way to Xbox. The lack of a Game Pass announcement is a slight miss, but more people getting to experience this witty, inventive narrative game is a win regardless. If you haven’t played it yet, clear your calendar when it hits this Summer.
Hades II
- Hades II is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming on April 14—Day One with Xbox Game Pass
- The sequel builds on the critically acclaimed original with new locations, upgrade systems, and challenges as the immortal Princess of the Underworld
- The Xbox release ends the platform exclusivity window Nintendo had held since the game’s launch
Hades II, the god-like roguelike returns to Xbox and Game Pass sooner than most expected. I figured Nintendo would have the console exclusivity for a year, just like the original Hades, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Regardless, Hades II is an amazing sequel that’s every bit as good as the original. Supergiant continues to prove they’re one of the best studios in the game, and Xbox players are in for a treat when it arrives April 14.
Moosa: Dirty Fate
- A world premiere third-person action game set in a painterly, Korean-inspired vision of Feudal Korea
- An unknown force has ravaged the land, withering crops and driving people to extreme measures of survival
- Coming 2027 to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, with Game Pass confirmed
Moosa: Dirty Fate was one of the most visually striking world premieres of the show. The painterly art direction immediately sets it apart. Feudal Korea is a rare and welcome setting, and the combination of lush hand-crafted landscapes with slick third-person combat gives it a distinctive identity right out of the gate. The premise of tracking down a mysterious force that has brought an entire civilization to its knees has plenty of narrative potential, and with a 2027 window, there’s time to deliver on it. One to watch closely.
Alien Deathstorm
- A new first-person survival shooter from Rebellion (Atomfall, Sniper Elite), confirmed for Xbox Game Pass Day One
- Set on a storm-ravaged off-world colony overrun by terrifying alien creatures with a constantly shifting threat
- Confirmed as an Xbox Play Anywhere title for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud
Rebellion has a strong track record, and Alien Deathstorm looks like a tense, atmospheric shooter with real personality. The premise of a monstrous, ever-adapting alien threat on a volatile off-world colony sets up the kind of survival tension that could make this a compelling first-person experience to look forward to.
Grave Seasons
- A farming sim with a dark, sinister edge from developer Perfect Garbage, confirmed Day One on Xbox Game Pass
- Set in the seemingly welcoming town of Ashenridge, where something deeply unsettling lurks beneath the surface
- Launches August 14, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud, with a public demo arriving soon
Grave Seasons is the kind of concept that sells itself: a farming sim where the wholesome surface gives way to something far more sinister. The trailer leans into that tension well. Ashenridge looks warm and inviting right up until it doesn’t. Good thing Game Pass subscribers will already have their invitation ready when Grave Seasons launches August 14, 2026. Developer Perfect Garbage also announced a public demo is on the way, so there won’t be long to wait before getting a taste of whatever is lurking under those fields.
Vaunted
- A tactical RPG that pairs turn-based planning with real-time action, world premiering at the show
- Three unreliable narrators unravel the story of an expedition gone wrong, with a diverse roster of allies and abilities
- Coming to Xbox on PC & PC Game Pass in 2026
Vaunted was one of the more intriguing reveals of the show. The blend of turn-based strategy and real-time execution opens up a lot of interesting possibilities, and the framing device of three unreliable narrators hints at a story with some real ambition behind it. Definitely one to watch.
The Rest of the Show

Xbox Game Pass is Still Kicking

This Partner Preview was a reminder that Xbox Game Pass still has value. Fourteen Day One Game Pass titles in a single 30-min show is no small feat, and with Stranger Than Heaven and The Expanse: Osiris Reborn headlining that list, Xbox is showing they can match the quality with the quantity. Adding in the 6 confirmed first-party titles anchoring Xbox and Game Pass this year, the 75+ Day One goal they promised doesn’t seem so farfetched after today. If the rest of 2026 keeps this pace, Xbox Game Pass subscribers are in for the best year yet for the service.
