Brazil Has Reportedly Approved Activision Blizzard Acquisition

Call of Duty Xbox Activision Blizzard

It feels like there is always news and rumours surrounding Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. With the deal being the largest gaming acquisition in industry history, it is obviously ripe for discussion. With plenty of nuance and information constantly flowing in. However, it appears that Microsoft has managed to clear one of its many roadblocks ahead.

As revealed by industry analyst Benji Sales it appears that Brazil has moved to approve Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. In a document released earlier today it was revealed that Brazil will be moving forward with approving the deal with no restrictions. Which means that Microsoft will not need to make any adjustments to its acquisition to appease Brazilian regulators. This approval is a big win for Microsoft as Brazil is a major player in the world economy and their approval will help Microsoft make their case in other countries that might have issues with the acquisition. As the CMA in the UK has been quite vocal about how they feel about Microsoft eliminating competition through this acquisition.
