Bioware’s next fantasy RPG, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, will have its official gameplay reveal on Tuesday, June 11th at 8:00am PT. It has been a decade since the last major release in the storied Dragon Age franchise. The Veilguard, previously named Dreadwolf will return players to Thedas with some interesting implications given the title.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard has had a troubling development cycle. Beginning in 2015, the project has seen multiple directors and staff. It was officially announced at the Game Awards in 2018 as Dragon Age 4. It was rebranded four years later to Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. The game in its current incarnation has not been shown publicly. Given that Bioware has not launched a new title since 2019’s Anthem, expectations are high for the former star-studded studio.
It is somewhat surprising that Bioware has not chosen to debut the relaunched game at any of the major events happening over the next week. They clearly want an in depth spotlight all to themselves.
