Our friends over at Xbox Era have just announced the launch of the Console Wars The Card Game Kickstarter. The card game was long teased as the site super’s secret project for many weeks now. Check out all the details below.
About Console Wars The Card Game
Console Wars The Card Game is a satirical, parody-driven game that dives into the deep and whacky world of the competition between video game platforms, publishers, and players.
The key to winning the Console Wars is content dominance. Players are pitted against one another to battle for control of four full sets of IPs from different genres. This includes first-person shooters, platformers, and RPGs.
When playing Console Wars The Card Game, players will compete to amass as many fans as possible. With no fans, players won’t have any momentum and essentially, no platform. Keeping fans is a major part of keeping your gaming franchises.

The Inspiration Behind the Game
Jon Clarke, Co-founder of XboxEra, had this to say about Console Wars The Card Game:
“Console Wars” is something the entire industry knows about, and actively dislikes. So what if we took all that toxicity; all that online hate – and turned it into something positive and fun? Something where we could all collectively point and laugh at how ridiculous the very concept of ‘console warring’ is? That’s how Console Wars The Card Game came to be.
Inspired by many of the card games I already play, I wanted to make something even more strategic, vicious and hilarious. As I’ve witnessed with the playtesting over the last year, I truly believe that’s what Console Wars The Card Game is!”
