What is Fairgame$ ?
Fairgame$ is a title that is being developed by Sony’s nascent Canadian Studio, Haven. This project has been in development for quite some time. Revealed in early 2023, Fairgame$ is a title that we do not know much about. In the PlayStation blog post1, it was being touted as a “modern take on the heist genre”. Outside of the few screenshots and the CGI trailer, information about the game is sparse.
Outside looking in this game aims to be more PvE akin to Helldivers 2 but there is still much we do not know about. What perspective will the game take place in? Will it be more over the shoulder or will it take on a first person perspective? Another question that comes to mind is when will gameplay finally get shown? These are questions that ring in my head when I think of this game. February’s PlayStation State of Play brought a ton of third party trailers and highlighted their cool initiatives such as the China Hero Project, but their previously announced First Party live service games namely Marathon and Fairgame$ were absent. So what is going on?

Potentially Pushed to 2026?
On episode 385 of Game Mess, Industry vet Jeff Grub and his Co Host Mike were speaking about the recent State of Play. Their chat had asked Jeff about Fairgame$ and his response was “No Fairgame$ this year. Fairgame$ as far as I’m aware has been pushed to 2026”. This gives us some answers as to why the game did not show up in the recent State of Play.
It may just need more time in the oven. It shines light on the fact that next year will be a much bigger year from PlayStation studios. The titles slated for 2026 are Wolverine from Insomniac, the newly announced Saros from Housemarque, Marathon from Bungie and now Fairgame$ from Haven. This brings the number to at least four first party titles shipped in one year.
Additional Information
Chris Dring2 also stated earlier last year that he has heard good things about the game. Barring a major cancellation, I expect to see more on the title later this year via a state of play or at one of the various gaming events. There is always a chance that Sony conducts an alpha or a beta for the game to garner more of that precious player feedback.
What do you think? Are you still excited to see what Haven has in store with Fairgame$? Will you be checking it out when it launches? Write in your thoughts in the comments below!
