Soulframe Devstream 7 Breakdown

With PAX East slowly approaching, and Digital Extremes holding their cards close their chest for big reveals. The latest Devstream for Soulframe was a nice and chill backyard stream (barring a mischievous lawnmower). But in this stream, we did get a look at a few things that are coming to the game in Preludes 10. Including a new event, new dungeon, secondary weapon reveals and more. Here is everything from Devstream for Soulframe!

Preludes 10 Launches After PAX East

During the stream, Digital Extremes announced that Preludes 10 will launch after their appearance at PAX East. Whether that is the following day, or week is left up to interpretation. Preludes 10 will include the following features you see down below:

For starters, the new event, Crypt of the Circade will take place in a brand-new dungeon tileset. This dungeon will have relevancy to Fen Jotarr, the leader of the Kith of Kings Pact. Speaking of Pacts, though, they showed off new armor that you will be given from your chosen pact. When you start Soulframe you will be given a choice of three to join, and you will now be given a select weapon, and armor to wear. Alongside that same showcase, they revealed a new cool looking sword, a corrupted Sprout enemy, and a corrupted Wizard.

They also showcased some new weapons as well. Such as a staff that functions the same as the wrist cannons that was added in Preludes 9. As well as the three secondary weapons being added. All three right now are just variations of throwing daggers. They will perform similarly to a small blade, where you can still throw them or use them as a melee weapon.

Runes, Motes and Tree Update in Soulframe

Digital Extremes went into more detail over the new Motes and Runes system. The Motes will be replacing the Idol system from Preludes 7 and 8. Where fighting enemies will build a meter to perform an ultimate of sorts. What happens when the meter is full and used has yet to be seen. But this should be a cool system to play around with, just like the new Runes system.

The Runes will be more stat enhancement focused, where you will be able to modulate your weapon for more damage and other functions. This sounds like a great buildcrafting feature for Soulframe moving into the future.

Finally, they showed off a neat little feature for the tree’s that you touch to unlock your map. Alongside that feature, you will be able to read or add a note for other players to see. It feels very Fromsoftware inspired, and it should be ideal for the single player focused players. But before they moved onto the Q&A section of the stream, they left off with a cryptic note reading. Q&A Section of Devstream 7

While there were few questions they answered on the stream, they did confirm the following:

• They are planning to spice up the gameplay in the future.
• Climbing and mantling may be added in the future.
• Finally, when Soulframe is not just on PC, they will have cross save and cross play enabled out the gate.
