Expedition 33: How to Access Underwater Spots

In Expedition 33, a character you meet early on in the game named Esquie will serve a multi-purpose travel buddy. From running around on the overworld and swimming between islands in the first two acts, to flying near the end of the game, he will literally carry your party to everywhere you need to be. But one of the powers you are not given as part of the story is the ability to use underwater spots. These will be bright blue colored areas in the ocean, but how do you activate them? Well, you will need to be at the end of the game, and here is why.

How to Activate Underwater Spots in Expedition 33

In Expedition 33 you will have relationships with every character, similar to the Persona series. With Esquie, you will need to do his 6th relationship episode. This episode will have you go back and talk to Francois to acquire the rock to do so, named Urrie. It is fairly straightforward and will only really take you about 10-15 minutes.

Do be aware you will be fighting Francois as just Verso, so make sure he has the best Pictos and Lumina’s to take him on. But this is how you get the ability to activate underwater spots in the game. These will mostly just reward you with Colour of Lumina’s with one hidden dungeon near the Paintress Monolith. It is not required to finish the game, but it is good to have for completionists. Good luck, and I hope this guide helps you!
