TennoCon 2025: Digital Extremes TennoConcert was the Show of a Lifetime

TennoCon 2025 this year was a two-day-long event. The first day started with a hilarious and heartwarming cosplay contest from contestants that featured original ideas, and nearly identical renditions of characters. Whether it was the “normal dad” Stalker with a “#1 Dad” mug and carrying his baby, or a cosplay of Flare from Techrot Encore that felt like the character stepped out of Warframe itself in all of their glory.

Many laughs were had, and so many heartwarming moments and words were shared along the way. But following the cosplay contest was the first ever TennoCon Concert, aptly named TennoConcert. This was an hour and a half of live performances from Digital Extremes’ own developers across the sound design, music, and even the Creative Director, Rebecca Ford. All of them sharing the stage of Canada Life Place in London, Ontario for an epic, headbanging show that will be remembered by the countless attendees for years to come.

TennoConcert Brought Warframe’s Epic Music to Life

It’s no secret that Warframe has killer tracks from almost every genre. For years, it was the standard orchestral affair with many sci-fi influences mixed in perfectly. But recently, Digital Extremes has been able to branch out flawlessly into opera music, rap rock, metal, and even screamo tracks in recent updates like Warframe: 1999. It was obviously a gamble for a studio as new ventures into different genres can risk backlash. But Digital Extremes was able to deliver in quality for every track, and that showed immensely during TennoConcert.

TennoConcert Stage Shot

TennoConcert opened with the CEO of Digital Extremes, Steve Sinclair, playing “To Take Its Pain Away” before moving onto the iconic track “This is What You Are”. This set the tone of remembrance and honor that Digital Extremes holds itself to with their game in every facet. But there is still a crowd that came to the show for a rocking time, and that was delivered in spades. Directly following some of the most iconic tracks for Warframe was a seamless barrage of banging tracks from Warframe: 1999.

The Call, Numb, On-lyne’s Party of Your Lifetime, and Great Despair, Pick a Side, Shut it Down. Even Sleeping in the Cold Below, and We All Lift Together were all performed in glorious presentation. The only song I feel should have been included was Lamenting the Days from Techrot Encore, but the song choices were excellent across the board and kept the audience screaming, cheering, and rocking out (me included).

Rows upon rows of excited fans were treated to the best performances Digital Extremes could offer. It was a night you just had to be there for. But they were smart enough to stream it live for everyone to watch. Allowing fans from home to share in that experience. If you have not watched the concert, there is even a VOD you can find here.

Everyone from Digital Extremes and beyond gave it their all. With excellent showmanship, pyrotechnics, dedicated singers for the Screamo parts in Shut it Down with Anthony Nuccio and Juvon Taylor being on lead vocals for Party of Your Lifetime and The Great Despair. As well as subtle commands from those on standby to have the crowd’s arms swaying side to side during songs like The Great Despair. The most “hype” part of the show was being a part of everyone in the stands getting up and throwing devil horns in the air during songs like Pick a Side. Moments like that will be remembered forever.

A Once in a Lifetime Experience

TennoCon 2025 was a celebration of 10 years for TennoCon itself. An annual convention for fans of a free-to-play game never dipping in quality needs to be studied. Considering Digital Extremes always seems to raise the bar each year. But it will be interesting to see if they will do another concert like this. It was no doubt a labor of love, but will they leave this as a memory for everyone to enjoy? Or will they plan for these for special occasions in the future? Time will only tell, but there is one thing we can all be sure of.

Digital Extremes honored all parts of their audio and music departments in one night. Reminding everyone of where they were originally, and what they gave over the years. Keeping the spirit of Warframe ever-present throughout all of TennoConcert. To see a free-to-play game’s developer go above and beyond for something like this was a welcome surprise. Especially when they are already lovingly crafting new music for jaw-dropping future updates like The Old Peace.

The love, care, and effort put into TennoConcert created a memory Digital Extremes and its community will cherish for years to come.
