Hideo Kojima’s origins with the horror genre started with P.T., and he continues those efforts with OD, a first-person horror experience published by Xbox Game Studios. Outside of the game’s initial reveal, we have received few updates on this title. Thankfully, Kojima has lifted the fog on the silent horrors with a new teaser trailer.
Knock Teaser Trailer

The trailer begins with a character walking into a room and is instructed to light a series of candles. The vibes are decidedly spooky, invoking memories of P.T.‘s endless hallways and surprise frights. As the person lights all the candles, someone sneaks up from behind and… The trailer ends with us concerned for their fate.
General Information on OD
The trailer offers a glimpse into the horrific world players will encounter in the final game, a first-person horror experience that requires puzzle-solving. But to break down additional information on the title, IGN says the following:
As previously announced, the mysterious game will star Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ Sophia Lillis, Hunters’ Udo Kier and Euphoria’s Hunter Schafer — and today’s trailer showcased Lillis’ character in a spooky house, lighting candles before meeting a malevolent figure.
On stage, Kojima explained that the game was subtitled as OD: Knock — and indeed, a creepy knocking sound can be heard throughout the trailer. The subtitle appears to differentiate Kojima’s video game from the OD project being worked on by filmmaker Jordan Peele. “There is a different kind of fear Jordan [Peele] will do. Mine is the ‘knock’, is the fear,” Kojima said today. “I really am afraid of big knock sounds.”
Closing Thoughts on Hideo Kojima’s OD
Seeing in-game footage of the title in action is exciting and confirms the game’s ongoing development under Kojima Productions and Xbox Game Studios.
This follows the recent wave of layoffs and game cancellations under Microsoft Gaming, creating confidence that OD will be released in the near future. Being someone who wanted to experience P.T. but couldn’t, seeing him return to that style of horror experience has me hyped for its release.
