Olympus Updates

The reworked Olympus is a high-velocity playground, rebuilt for better flow, elevated gameplay, and safer positioning.
Storm the sprawling Somers University campus and use its Horizon lifts to seize the high ground.
Players can navigate the sprawling chasm of the Gravity Engine and make plays on its floating platforms, zipline over the void of the new Stabilizer, and traverse the floating buildings of Dockyard at breakneck speeds.
“Olympus has always been one of Apex Legends’ most iconic
– Michael Shannon, Senior Level Designer
maps. While it’s still a fan favorite for many, its wide-open fields and sparse cover make
it difficult for this map to shine in a competitive setting. We’ve focused on transforming
the open areas of Olympus into exciting new POIs that reward skillful play, and
resolving problematic rotations with terrain reworks and minor POIs.
For players looking for high kill games, new POIs like Gravity Engine and Somers
University bring new hot drop potential to the map, adding Horizon lifts, zip rails and an
emphasis on movement. Combined with other countless small improvements, we think
there is something for everyone in this update.”
The Story So Far
- In an earlier season, an Olympus began randomly showing up throughout the Outlands, ultimately colliding with the Stasis Net on Broken Moon before disappearing again.
- Now, that Olympus has been found buried in the snow of Pagos, and no one knows where it came from. The leading theory of its origin, proposed by one Mary “Horizon” Somers, is that a future version of Olympus traveled back in time and met an untimely end on the snowy planet. That leaves many questions–all of which Dr. Somers intends to answer.
- With Horizon’s help, the Syndicate has tried to restore this version of Olympus to optimal condition after its crash and lifted it back into the sky with new gravitational technology. With concerns over the stability of Olympus Prime, the Apex Games have moved on to this alternate Olympus.
Points of Interest
- Somers University – Built by Horizon to explore the mysteries of the universe and honor her son Newton, Somers University replaces Orbital Cannon and brings bold architecture and high-flying lifts to Olympus. Relics from the crash site giving insight on the mysteries of this Olympus can be seen here.
- Gravity Engine – The new beating heart of Olympus, Gravity Engine replaces Energy Depot and harnesses the power of Branthium to keep the city afloat. Lifts, zip rails and verticality collide making this POI the next hot spot on Olympus.
- Stabilizer – This platform in the sky replaces Docks and is responsible for keeping Olympus properly aligned. Floating rocks from the planet below provide a path to its outer ballast structure.
- Dockyard – This camp near Hydroponics gets a massive upgrade, combining nostalgic elements from the original Olympus with a new emphasis on vertical gameplay.
Legends: Amped Up!

● Valkyrie is ready to dominate aerial combat: her VTOL Jets get a speed boost and recharge three times faster, plus a shorter takeoff time for her Skyward Dive Ultimate. Her Missile Swarm Tactical gains utility: zero self-damage, no height restrictions, and it now scans enemies on hit and puts movement Passives on cooldown. Her upgrades
can expand missile patterns, reduce fuel consumption while improving horizontal speed, and significantly boost her Ultimate takeoff time.
“Valkyrie was revolutionary when she launched, but the
game has caught up with her. What used to be a totally unique ultimate now
competes with jump towers, and her jetpack just hasn’t been keeping pace.
Valkyrie should feel dangerous in motion again, with a modernized jetpack
that cuts down the cooldown, boosts flight speed and is more responsive
overall so you’re not just a sitting duck. Instead of feeling like a budget dash,
her jetpack now delivers on that jet fighter fantasy. We’ve also given her ultimate
sharper quality-of-life upgrades, like faster launches and the new Super Sonic
option, so it’s viable in situations it never was before.”
– Ian Holstead, Legend Designer

● Rampart locks down the map with an improved Amped Cover Tactical that evolves with gameplay. Her walls gain health as Evo level increases, grant speed boosts, and include a roof! In addition, Improved upgrades take it further—adding fast reloads and infinite ammo when shooting from behind Amped Cover, and regenerating wall health out of combat.
“Rampart’s always had a strong fantasy, but her walls
– Ian Holstead, Legend Designer
didn’t always deliver beyond poke fights. We wanted her cover to matter in more
situations, especially late game. This season, we’ve doubled down on her tactical
identity. Rampart is less static and more dynamic, turning defense into
momentum with infinite ammo, faster reloads and walls that regenerate. Her
toolkit shifts her from a static defender to a springboard to help her squad push.”

● Fly higher with Horizon buffs: her Gravity Lift Tactical now has a shorter cooldown and lift speed improvements, plus more health for Black Hole Ultimate. And her improved upgrades create more opportunities for aerial movement: fast-fall by crouching mid-air or glide out of gravity lifts for extended aerial control, and gain bonus Gravity Lift charges on knockdowns.
“Horizon has stayed powerful in the right hands, but
Ian Holstead, Legend Designer
nerfs left her feeling less exciting. Our goal was to give her more fun and
movement-based options while restoring a bit of the power that had been taken
away. Horizon reclaims her role as the master of verticality, with sharper,
more fluid tools for both aerial dominance and quick re-engagement. By
restoring her movement fantasy, we’ve made her kit both fun and formidable.”
Amped “Quality of Life” and other Updates
The “Double Tap” Hop Up arrives with new and more devastating close-range firepower to the Alternator! Fire both barrels at once and watch enemies drop before they know what hit them. The perfect weapon for quick and deadly fights—so close the gap and double-tap.
This Double Tap is unlike any other version we’ve so far
Casey O’Brien, Weapons Designer
introduced into Apex Legends. The Alternator’s Double Tap Hop Up takes the speed
of velocity to a whole new level by firing both shots at the exact, yes, EXACT,
same time. It’s incredibly deadly at close range, and most importantly, incredibly fun.
Movement Updates (Mantle Boost & Trident)
Apex’s new Mantle Boost gives players a forward movement boost when climbing up from ledges or walls, helping Legends dive into the next fight. The Trident gets improved collision and dedicated vehicle health (including visual effects), making it more fun to drive and more satisfying to fight.
Eric Canavese, Lead BR Designer
“Mantle Boosts have been in the game for some time, but the
movement isn’t easy to pull off and a player would never know it without outside
knowledge. We’re adding a Mantle Boost indicator so players can easily see when
and how to activate the high-octane movement ability, opening up the mechanic
and introducing new ways to play for a much wider base of plÍayers. In the name of
velocity, it only felt right to bring back in the hot wheels, which brought with it some
necessary quality-of-life changes like visual damage and better collision.”
Wildcard Updates
Wildcard breaks the sound barrier in the Supersonic Event from November 18 – December 16. The action-packed mode gets a boost of adrenaline with an updated Olympus map, a Mythic. R-99 that fires a Missile Swarm, plus speed-boosting Wild Card upgrades to help you outrun and outplay your opponents.
- Ready for a new Wildcard map? Reach peak performance on Olympus, now with added map toys for Wildcard: more ziplines, more gravity cannons, more ways to take flight, and win fights.
- Fire missiles and feel the afterburn with the new Mythic R-99. This weapon borrows Valkyrie’s Missile Swarm ability, plus a few extra movement and zipline speed bonuses. Pick it up from Rampart Care Packages, build heat by shooting and dealing damage, then lock onto targets and unleash a Missile Swarm. They won’t know what hit them.
- Go faster and furiouser with the latest Wild Card upgrades: Burning Rubber leaves fire trails that burn enemies in your wake. Extra Zippy refills shields and speed boosts on ziplines and ziprails. Highlight enemies while you’re airborne or on the ground with Eyes in the Sky and the Quick and the Dead. Get Up and Go grants speed bursts after clutch revives, while Along for the Slide gives you faster, longer slides.
- Earn Boost throughout the event to unlock Supersonic Event Packs and Apex Packs. Check out Legendary Skins for Horizon, Crypto, Sparrow, Mirage, and Catalyst, plus matching weapons, all available as possible drops in Supersonic Event Packs. And finally, the Death Duet Universal Melee, a set of duel katanas, enters the Games.
Suit up, Legends! Time to move fast, hit hard, and look great doing it.
