Digital Extremes is celebrating the holidays in style for both of its games. With Warframe, you have Tennobaum, and now, for Soulframe, there is the “Thawtide” event that is a little more minimalistic in its approach but still has some interesting new loot for players to get in the Preludes program. Here is everything you need to know about the event below!
Details on the Thawtide Event for Soulframe
For the event itself, Thawtide has an interesting idea to it. Instead of draping the open world in snow, you will instead be searching for packs of hunters to kill for the new event loot, such as the armor, bow, and dagger you see below.
You will have to find these “squawkers” around the open world, kill the hunters that guard them, then build your own to replace the destroyed one to bring some joy to the birds in the area. After planting the replacement, more hunters will appear that you will have to take on. The levels of the hunters increase as you continue to do the event, and so does the chance to get the first dagger in the game that can be used as your primary melee weapon instead of your second one.
Also included in the update are some increases to faction reputation, which is great to see that steps are being taken to alleviate that grind. There are also all new runes that can drop from world bosses when you start a Cogah hard-mode run. On top of this are a whole slew of balance changes, and more that you can find more details for here in the official patch notes. This includes changes to the overpowered Bromius and Tethren abilities that have been circulating online.
The Thawtide event itself will run until January 30th next year.
