In Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined, there are going to be a lot of different red chests that are filled with awesome loot. However, a lot of them will be locked. Unlike in past entries, where chests are color-coded to be blue or black to match the keys you need. In this game, you will need to find 2 different keys. One is the Magic Key that is found after acquiring the magic carpet. The other is the Ultimate Key, which is found near the end of the game. Below will be a quick and easy guide to locating it!
Ultimate Key Location in Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined
This is going to be spoiler-free. So, with that in mind, before reaching the final act of the game, you will have to go to a specific location called the Cathedral of Light. In this location, you will be told to rest in a room on the top floor. Do not do this yet. Instead, go to the balcony on the right side of the building, go to the door upwards, then down the stairs. You will find a bunch of cells with monsters in them. In the room at the very top, in the center chest, you will find the Ultimate Key as you see below.
This key will open every chest in the game that you cannot open with the magical key in Dragon Quest 7: Reimagined. But I hope this guide helps you, dear reader!
