Yesterday, Digital Extremes dropped some sour news on its playerbase regarding the global release of the android version of Warframe. Due to login issues that were discovered over the week when they soft-launched the android version in Canada, they are having to delay it, and do not have a definitive date on when it will launch globally for now. This is sad news, but ensuring that players are able to log in to their accounts is priority one in a game like this.
However, with that news out of the way, they were still able to launch a buy-one-get-one free deal on Platinum (the game’s premium currency). If you log in now, you will be able to partake in the first-ever community-wide BOGO on Platinum in Warframe. Here are all the details about it!
What you Need to Know About the Platinum BOGO in Warframe
First, let’s talk about why this is out of the ordinary. When logging into the game, you always have a chance of getting a coupon that either gives you a discount on your platinum purchase or bonus platinum on that purchase. These coupons are rare and entice players to spend. After all, who wouldn’t take up the offer for either a cheaper purchase or more currency than intended? That is what makes the community-wide BOGO offer so special: it gives everyone a guaranteed double on their next platinum purchase, at least until the 24th this month. But why is this happening?

There are a few changes happening to platinum in Warframe. The good news is that every pack will have just a little more platinum. The bad news is that the rare mods in the 50-150 dollar bundles have been removed. There will also be price increases for certain currencies in different regions of the world:
- Philippine Peso (PHP) – 4% increase
- Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) – 5% increase
- Turkish Lira (TRY) – 8% increase
- Argentine Peso (ARS) (Xbox/Switch only) – 64% increase
All details on how much more platinum comes in each pack can be found here. Price increases are never ideal, and the minuscule increases to the platinum given in each pack don’t make up for it fully. But not a lot of games ever change their currency models, so this is new territory, given the current economic climate in the world.
