Wasteland 3 Is Officially Delayed To August Due To Covid-19
Covid-19 has been wreaking havoc upon the world in the past few months. Changing our daily lives in many different ways. This is no different for video game developers as many studios have had to switch to working from scenarios and adapt very quickly. This no doubt will affect the launch dates of upcoming games that maybe weren’t in the final stages of development. Today, we learned that Wasteland 3 will be one of the first games to officially be delayed due to these circumstances. With the game being delayed until August 28th, 2020. In a letter to fans, InXile Studio Head Brian Fargo detailed the reasons that Wasteland 3 would be delayed.
“As with most companies, we moved to a work-from-home environment some weeks ago, and that’s, of course, introduced new challenges that many of us throughout the world have been learning to manage. We’ve been excited to see the Wasteland 3 Beta so well received, but the reality is that with these new logistical challenges our release was going to be impacted. We’re in a great position with both Microsoft and Deep Silver supporting our desire to ensure the game launches in the best possible circumstances and to add a few extra months to ensure this is a stellar product on day one. With that, Wasteland 3’s new release date is August 28, 2020.”
While it certainly is sad to see Wasteland 3 get delayed. Due to the circumstances, it is no doubt understandable. It begs the question of what could possibly be delayed next? Only time will tell.
