EVO Japan 2024 Announcements
EVO (also known as Evolution Championship Series) is the premier tournament of the Fighting Game Community (FGC). The Japan-specific counterpart brought competitors to Ariake GYM-EX in Tokyo this year. Consequently, this serves as a great opportunity for strong players who normally do or cannot compete at EVO in Vegas. Meanwhile, EVO Japan 2024 delighted fans of the FGC with amazing announcements during the final day of the competition.

Arc SystemWorks stands to be one of the best fighting game developers due to several successful titles such as Guilty Gear Strive. This game continually grows in popularity and respect within the FGC. As a result, Guilty Gear Strive regularly receives updates and new characters.
Slayer serves as the latest DLC character to complete the third season pass. He, alongside the new stage Amber Fest with Kind Neighbors, debuts on May 30; however, that is not the end. TEKKEN 8
Bandai Namco Entertainment came out swinging with the launch of TEKKEN 8. The series surged in popularity with the latest installment. Additionally, it serves as the premiere title for EVO in Vegas later this year.
However, Katsuhiro Harada (game director and producer for Bandai Namco Entertainment) and the rest of the TEKKEN team debuted the official season one trailer for the game. Subsequently, this shows off the new chapter being added to the main story sometime in the fall of this year.
Season one brings photo mode and a new stage, Seaside Resort, this summer. Additionally, Lidia returns to the franchise as the next DLC character following Eddy Gordo. Street Fighter 6
Capcom brought EVO Japan 2024 to a close. Street Fighter 6 served as the final top 6 bracket of the competition. The game launched with critical acclaim and praise from critics and fans alike. Meanwhile, players continue to find innovation through characters and system mechanics. However, this may not be enough to save them from the raging demon.
Akuma makes his return to the franchise. He offers the teachings of the Satsui no Hado to players in World Tour mode and brings unrelenting fury to others in Online play.
