It has been a long battle for Microsoft in its quest to purchase Activision Blizzard. When the acquisition was originally announced in January of 2022, it was quite a surprise. The sheer size of the acquisition immediately drew questions and concerns from all across the industry including many governing trading commissions. The FTC and CMA have both been an uphill battle for Microsoft, as some concessions had to be made to gain approval. However, it looks like finally, this deal is going to close very shortly perhaps even as early as tomorrow.
