Warframe: Tak & Lug Build and Review

With the Galleon of Ghouls event going into its second week, the second weapon is up for grabs, that is until next week. But for now the new grineer shield and sword weapon Tak & Lug have made their way into Warframe. This new addition to the ever growing arsenal looks unique, but lacks in several areas. Despite my best efforts, the weapons unique function sounds deadly, but is ultimately underwhelming, even with a good build for it.

Below will be the build I have landed on, and you will need at least 1 forma, I used an Umbral Forma, but you can use a standard one for Galvanized Steel instead:

This build plays up to the weapons strengths, and its unique ability. Combining a good mix of both blast, and radiation with a good critical chance and damage boost is a good call. Not to mention the Melee Animosity arcane for heavy attacks that can help them reach guaranteed orange and red crits.

But as for the weapon itself, I am at a loss regarding its performance. It hits well enough in Steel Path and Archon Hunts, but its unique ability sounds good on paper. But similarly to the Tonkkatt, it is executed very underwhelmingly. It is supposed to deal a big explosion if I am reading the unique trait listed correctly. However it feels like it is only good for small clumped up crowds. If you aim to grind for this next weekend if it is available. Just go into crafting it knowing that it will not serve you well. Which is very unfortunate.
