In Soulframe, the latest update, Preludes 10, added a whole slew of new content. From the Crypt of the Circade, to the new secondary weapons that match primary weapons in power. But one the featured new boss in this update, The Mendicant King is quite the new and exciting fight. He is a towering and strong foe with a unique damage mitigation mechanic. As well as a unique way to trigger the fight. Here is a short and easy guide to not only finding him, but triggering the fight and taking him down!
Soulframe Mendicant King Guide
For starters, make sure your weapons and pact are at least level 20 before hunting him (trust me). The Mendicant King in Soulframe can spawn in two different locations. Either in Stroaic in the South East of Midrath Island, or New Viscii in the South West. I have been having the most luck when logging in to explore Stroaic to trigger the fight.
Next you will have to find his throne, there will by cyan blue lights illuminating it, and will have a bell behind the throne. The way to tell if he summonable is if you see him in stone form. Once you see him sitting in the throne, throw something at the bell, it will start the fight.
For starters, prepare to dodge, a lot. When the fight starts, do not go for the King directly. Instead, kill every add that spawns. Once the adds are dead, the King will stagger for a brief moment then keep attacking you. The reason you need to kill adds first is to ensure his damage mitigation stops. He will continue summoning adds, so be quick and go in for the kill!
The Mendicant King in Soulframe will perform large sweeping area-of-effect attacks, so again, be prepared to dodge a lot as getting hit can be nearly an instant kill. I have been using the Oscelda pact for the bird swarm and rooting abilities to give myself some breathing room. I recommend doing the same.
After felling the Mendicant King you will get one of many fragments for his armor. I have received one for each of his set so far.
