At TennoCon 2025, Digital Extremes had a demo station for the mobile version of Warframe that is coming to Android devices in closed beta in fall of this year. iPhone users have been able to enjoy “Warframe on the go” for a while now. But Android users have been left in the dark and waiting for some confirmation of when they can play it. Whether it is launching in September to November is up in the air. But something I was left in the dark about was my understanding of the mobile port and how it worked. Here are my impressions from playing a little bit of the mobile version at TennoCon!
Warframe Mobile Android Version Impressions
For starters, the game did not look too stripped down from a technical perspective. I have played Warframe on the Xbox One, Series X, PlayStation 5, and recently, Valve’s Steam Deck handheld. I would place the visual fidelity and settings somewhere between the Xbox One and the Steam Deck. The performance is a little choppy, but it is still in active development. I was not able to check if there was a settings menu to optimize the experience, however. But the phone used for the demo station was the Google Pixel 9.

Above is the end mission screen if you fail (I assume an attendee before me did not survive). For the gameplay side of things, the selection menu is very precise and could use larger nodes to select missions. When loading into missions, it is pretty quick and will no doubt be reliant on your phone’s signal connection.
Movement is pretty interesting in the mobile port for Warframe. Your left thumb will move you in any direction, while there are buttons for melee, bullet jumping, normal jumps, and sliding all next to each other. There are also buttons for abilities below that menu with an easy-to-track health and shield bar for the player. The gunplay is the most interesting part of the demo. As the game will automatically drag your guns reticle and fire for you. This is something that may be worth looking into for the game’s amazing array of accessibility settings for those who cannot keep up with the fast-paced shooting.

Finally, there is a way to swap menus below where your thumb is, to ensure you can swap weapons while you use your right thumb to either bullet jump or slide.
You can find the page to sign up for the closed beta here. You will need to confirm your device’s name when signing up, so please check for that in your phone’s settings. If you are an Android user, you can click pre-install in the app store to download when you are invited (which I have already taken myself up on).
