After Warframe: 1999, I think I speak for the Warframe community when I say it was going to be a hard act to follow. But in typical Digital Extremes fashion, they were up to the challenge, and they released absolutely stunning gameplay for the next major quest from the end-of-year quest named “The Old Peace”. The Old Peace is going to be a revisit to the past before the old war with the Sentients and the Orokin.
This quest will feature an exciting new warframe, Uriel, two new Protoframes for Harrow and Wisp, and a new focus tree and rework to the system. Here is everything we learned from the TennoLive demo!

Childhood Memories Clouded in Smoke
The demo picked up where the string of ominous teases on the Warframe YouTube channel left off. An Excalibur Prime sneaks around a giant blue light while killing floating sentients with a Daikyu Prime. The giant blue light is created by a giant sentient named Hunhullus that Excalibur fights in cinematic flair, shooting parts off its body while flying around it. But as the fight ends, the Operator pops out to speak with a child sentient named Adis, who pops out of the giant sentient. Adis is a sentient friend that, with the help of Natah and Loid in the Entrati labs, was finally unveiled to the Operator by their repressed memory.

The Old Peace takes place on Perita, a moon of the Tau system. It is here that the Operator relives the memory of their past in Tauron Academy, walking with Adis on a day when the Operator is called to fight off Dax soldiers on a battlefield. During this gameplay, they showed off an expansion for the focus system in Warframe with a new focus called “Tauron”.
The Tauron Focus showed off an ultimate blade swing during the gameplay demo. It was extremely cool and made the crowd go wild. The gameplay demo capped off with a brief glimpse at wall running, potentially returning, and a giant structure that housed what seems to be a new sentient boss. The boss had pretty interesting mechanics, with a wall that has a small opening to leap through to not get damaged, and summoning adds during the fight.

This update will also feature a visual rework for the Operator, which will be retroactive with past quests, such as The New War and The War Within.
2 New Protoframes and 63rd Warframe Revealed for The Old Peace
Going alongside this news are two new Protoframes. One for Harrow, and one for Wisp. Given the guilty conscious of Albrecht Entrati, they will be playing a role in a side story called “The Devils Triad” through a religious lens as Albrecht pleads for forgiveness for the Orokin. The Harrow Protoframe will reportedly not conflict with the story in Chains of Harrow, and both he and Wisp will be fully romanceable.

Finally, they revealed the new warframe coming in The Old Peace, Uriel will be his name, and he is Devil-themed by design. Uriel has a very dark look to him, resembling ash and brimstone visually. This warframe was the final one designed by the now departed Mynki, who played a pivotal role in the original visual design for Warframe, including the Primes, and even the recently added Technocyte Coda.
When is The Old Peace Arriving?
The Old Peace is looking to be yet another strong expansion-sized update for Warframe. Featuring new enemies, cinematic story beats in a much darker tone, and even new protoframes. It will be released by the end of the year. The Old Peace will be a free expansion-sized update and will be released on all major platforms.
