As players master their ninja magic skills with Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, SEGA is set to test those skills. Following the reveal of the SEGA Boss Villains DLC, another iconic SEGA legend joins the forces against Joe Musashi.
Golden Axe’s Death Adder Joins the SEGA Villains Pack

Following the announcement that Sonic the Hedgehog’s Dr. Eggman is part of the DLC, SEGA revealed that an iconic villain from the Golden Axe franchise joins the SEGA Villains DLC. They said the following on the real via Twitter/X:
The katana verses the axe. Joe Musashi will face off against another classic SEGA Villain – Death Adder, the fearsome giant from the Golden Axe series. Play against him, Dr Eggman and another mysterious villain in the SEGA Villains Stage DLC for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance.
Who Could the Final Villain Be in Shinobi: Art of Vengeance DLC?
Now that we know two of the three bosses Joe Musashi will face, one has to ask what the final one will be. Considering Lizardcube’s history working on SEGA franchises, there are two possibilities.
Wonder Boy
Beginning their relationship with SEGA through the impressive Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap in 2018, this franchise could be a perfect inclusion in Shinboi: Art of Vengeance.
One reason could be the clever use of resources, as both games feature striking hand-drawn art styles. So locations from The Dragon’s Trap would not look out of place in Art of Vengeance. In addition, it could be a fun challenge for Joe, as he would be fighting magical creatures.
Streets of Rage
However, the most logical choice could be Streets of Rage. It’s another iconic SEGA franchise, not only having an upcoming release in the future, but Lizardcube has a history with the franchise through contributions to Streets of Rage 4.
The villain choice could be Mr. X. He’s an iconic villain linked to the series, similar to how Dr. Eggman is to the Sonic franchise. Alongside Mr. X and his forces making an appearance, there are other characters from the series, like Axel and Blaze, assisting Joe Musashi throughout the level.
