Fallout 76 Looks To Expand Upon Update 21

Continuing to improve is the main goal of Bethesda with Fallout 76. This means updates going forward need to be exciting and improving QoL [quality of life]. Luckily, the past few updates have proven they are on the right track. So what is next? There are a few keynotes for the Update 21 in August.

Public Test Server on PC

Firstly, the PTS, public test server, will be turning on a few adjustments.

  • One Wasteland looks to assist level scaling in the lands of Appalachia. This will allow groups of survivors to play more activities regardless of level. XP and loot drops are expected to adjust to the player’s level upon activity completions. This will be key in activities like the Scorched Earth activity. Often times, lower level players find themselves at the mercy of significantly higher level mobs. It also affects participants as the more players in the activity, the more difficult the activity scales.
  • Daily Ops looks to be a new daily activity with potentially high rewards. This new activity seems to be completely reliant on RNGesus from the location to the requirement to complete said activity. The rewards will be higher for completing the task in a specified time. It is able to be completed once a day in an instanced area solo or in a group up to four.
  • Legendary Perks will be continuing to adjust and improve in the PTS as well. New legendary perk cards will be introduced all while keeping previous cards earned in PTS. Coins will double in value for scrapping perk cards you no longer need or want.

A Colossal Problem

The highly anticipated new activity finally will be hitting live servers on August 18th. ‘A Colossal Problem’ was originally intended to launch at the start of Update 21. This activity looks to help bolster end game content for Fallout 76 by providing a new ‘boss of sorts.’ The wendigo colossus will be found in the Monongah Mines. Like the Scorched Earth event, this activity is triggered by nuking around the mine.

Update 21

Meat Week event is hosted by popular super-mutant Grahm. This event was adjusted a week to accommodate for the addition to ‘A Colossal Problem.’
