Grounded

Level Up That Hatchet In Grounded!

Grounded is a new survival game created by Obsidian, the masterminds behind Fallout: New Vegas, The Outer Worlds, upcoming title Avowed, and more. Grounded has been a great success, gaining a million players in 48 hours since it hit the Game Preview program and Xbox Game Pass. Like most survival games, the tools you use are vital to your experience. Having the best tools possible can drastically enhance the speed of construction and damage in combat. The level one hatchet in Grounded is good, but of course, it’s not great and it can take a long time to acquire materials. The further you get into the game, the more you’ll end up wanting that next level hatchet. The level two hatchet will make your life much easier in Grounded! Here’s how you can obtain this coveted tool.

Get Used To Hunting The Big Bugs

The first thing you want to do is go out hunting. Obtain gear and weapons that will allow you to go toe to toe with ladybugs and bombardier beetles. You need to kill a bombardier beetles to obtain the recipe. Both are very tough to take down, so I highly suggest using a bow to take it down from afar. Grounded definitely has some of the tougher enemies to deal with early on in a video game! You discover the recipe once you have finally taken down one of these large bugs. If you go up against a ladybug it’s like fighting an armored tank. They dish out high damage, lots of health, and have a lunge attack that will knock out a large portion of your health in one hit. With bombardier beetles, they are just as tough as ladybugs but have a ranged splash attack that can be devastating. If you can manage to take them down, you’re well on your way to obtaining the level two hatchet.

Level Two Hatchet

Materials That You Will Need

So now you are a professional big bug hunter, and nothing can stand in your way! It’s time to get that level two hatchet and drastically increase the speed of chopping things down! Seriously, it’s fantastic. For example, it now only takes three hits to cut down a blade of grass instead of six! You need to have a workbench to craft this new hatchet as well. Once all set up, acquire one ladybug head, three bombardier bug parts, and four spider silk. Now go craft that incredible tool and enjoy the luxury of chopping down things with speed!
