Ghost of Tsushima Sales Top 6.5 Million Worldwide
Since its launch in July 2020, Ghost of Tsushima has reached a new sales figure of 6.5 million copies. Funnily enough, this news comes to us by way of a film adaptation, revealed by Deadline. A film adaptation, helmed by John Wick director, Chad Stahelski.
If you recall, the last update we received, came in November 2020. Then, we learned Ghost of Tsushima‘s sales figures had reached 5 million copies. Couple this with the news of Ghost of Tsushima, being Sony’s fastest selling new IP in PlayStation Studios’ history. Beating out the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, Bloodborne and The Last Guardian. Of course, we can not forget about the almighty Knack in the list either. Nonetheless, Ghost of Tsushima‘s 2.4 million copies during its first three days, was enough to earn the game the honor.

We also know the game ranks amongst some of the highest in terms completion percentage for open world games. At over 50 percent, Tsushima beats out games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
All in all, the game was acclaimed by critics and fans alike, so seeing that translate into sales as well, is always great to see. For a team like Sucker Punch, seeing the success and praise they have received feels long overdue. Especially for fans, like me, who have been a fan since their Sly Cooper days and noticed they have not been regarded as similarly as their sister studios. With Ghost, this should firmly cement them alongside the likes of Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Guerrilla and Insomniac.
