Over on the official 2K Games Twitter account, they have submerged into a Bioshock marketing campaign. In the early morning hours, the account began posting Bioshock fan art. Along with that, it changed its profile picture to Bioshock antagonist Andrew Ryan. Yet most notably came the post “Would you kindly join us in celebrating BioShock’s 15th anniversary #BioShock15.”
The top comment in the replies comes from Gamescom and The Game Awards showrunner Geoff Keighley. There is a clear interaction between him and the official 2K Games Twitter account. An acknowledgment that something is coming at this week’s Gamescom event. Another Tweet seems to indicate it could be some sort of prequel.

Way back in 2019 2K Games confirmed work on a new Bioshock game from an all-new team at Cloud Chamber Studios. Via a press release on December 9th, 2019 2K added the following,
From the 2019 Press Release
“As we continue growing our product portfolio, we remain inspired by opportunities to invest further in our valuable IP, great people and their collective, long-term potential,” said David Ismailer, President of 2K. “BioShock is one of the most beloved, critically praised and highest-rated franchises of the last console generation*. We can’t wait to see where its powerful narrative and iconic, first-person shooter gameplay head in the future with our new studio team at Cloud Chamber leading the charge.”
Nearly three years after confirming the game’s existence, it must be ready to show. It is very likely we see something this week. Although it should be noted that 2K is teasing something for a 15 anniversary. This could include the ray tracing enabled Bioshock Remaster found in the Nvidia leak. We will not have to wait long to find out, as Gamescom Opening Night Live takes place Tuesday, August 23rd at 2 PM ET.
