The Game Awards 2022: Death Stranding 2
The Game Awards are back. A one-night-only celebration of all things gaming live from the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Today December 8th, the best games from the year will be recognized and a ton of game announcements will be made. With that, we have a first look at Death Stranding 2.
The follow-up to the 2019 cult classic Death Stranding takes place in a dystopian United States that is fractured and filled with a dark plague. As Sam Porter, you must connect the country back together and restore modern civilization. The role has you take on the work of a delivery man in a complex desolate world. The game is directed by Hideo Kojima, the mind behind Metal Gear Solid. The latest trailer features Lea Seydoux and Norman Reedus as they return to their respective roles as Fragile and Sam. The end of the trailer touches on the first game and ends with asking, “Should we have connected?”
Death Stranding was centered around a pandemic and was released four months before lockdowns began in the US in March of 2020. It will be interesting to see how the story follows knowing the real-life events that followed. Check out the first trailer for Death Stranding 2 below.
