PAX East 2023: Aliens: Dark Descent Gets A Release Date
PAX East 2023 is here, the Lords from the Iron Lords Podcast and LOGNET are live on the show floor. One of the many games being previewed on the show floor this year is Aliens: Dark Descent. A brand new real-time strategy game set within the Aliens universe.
In Aliens: Dark Descent you will simultaneously control four Marines through a spaceship. The top-down isometric view gives you an aerial look at the waves of Xenomorphs headed your way. Not only will the enemies drain your health and ammo, but there is also a unique stress meter. Your stress meter will rise with the action and carry with you through the game. With that, you will be given the ability to repair yourself between levels. What you do not resolve will carry over as “trauma” something that will impact your abilities.
Our short demo did not take us very far through the game. Additionally, there is a base building element but we were not able to see that. However, what we did play was a simple run through a short area with lots of combat. There are some mechanic class features where you can plant turrets and weld doors shut. Although the combat is automatically done by the CPU in modern RTS form.
Aliens: Dark Descent will release as a cross-gen title on June 20th. Plus the game will support the Steam Deck. This could be a fantastic game to take with you on your summer vacation. Make sure to follow LOGNET and ILP on social channels as we will have more content coming closer to release.
