Pax East 2023: Alterium Shift – Exclusive Interview
Pax East 2023 is here, and the Lords from the Iron Lords Podcast and LOGNET are live on the show floor. One of the many games being previewed on the show floor this year is the JRPG called Alterium Shift.
Alterium Shift is a true tribute to retro JRPG greatness. Join three heroes in training as they learn to master their individual strengths and harness the power of Alterium Essence. With their training nearly completed, Dolion, their teacher, prepares them for the most important mission they’ve faced yet.
About The Game
When it comes to this retro-style JRPG, I believe fans of the genre will be excited. The pixel-based art style in Alterium Shift gives flashbacks of great games such as Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI. While interviewing and just talking to Drattzy Games, you could tell how passionate they were about Alterium Shift. I played longer than the interview shows and all 3 characters were unique and fun. I actually played twice! Each character had their own style of combat and personality which provided a fun experience. Each character’s story kind of converges together down the line too. I did see there was fishing even though I didn’t get to do any of that.
So who knows what other types of things like fishing we will get to do. From Alterium Shift’s demo, I was able to play I could tell the story is well put together and had me interested. Just from its demo alone I was sucked in, and exploring as much as I could from the different shops and houses to the monsters in the wild. Currently, Alterium Shift is in early access on Steam, but once completed should be 10 hours per character. Which means a whopping 30 hours for all 3 of them!
Alterium Shift will be released on multiple platforms once finished. While you’re here, check out the rest of our Pax East 2023 coverage right here.
