This week brought exciting news and updates in the world of games. Nintendo kicked things off with an excellent Nintendo Direct. Additionally, PlayStation itself rounded out the new week with a Third-Party and Indie-centered State of Play. Bandai Namco introduced an expansion to a fan favorite ARPG. Furthermore, fans should expect more thrilling storytelling from Tales of Arise with this new DLC, “Beyond the Dawn.”
One More Tale
“Beyond the Dawn” serves as an epilogue to the conclusion of the base game’s narrative. Alphen returns as the protagonist alongside his comrades. However, a new girl enters the story. Nazamil carries a complicated past and an uncertain future.
This expansion is massive and promises many hours of adventure for players jumping back into Tales of Arise. Subsequently, the developers created a cinematic experience, one they hope catches the audience off guard in a positive way.
Fans of the base game truly gave birth to “Beyond the Dawn.” The developers began to what life looked like for Alphen, Shionne, and their comrades. Yusuke Tomizawa (General Producer at Bandai Namco) had this to say on the topic:
We decided to focus on these emotions and develop this title to meet them once more and share with you the image of them growing up one more level. As the name Beyond the Dawn suggests, this is a straightforward story about the future and reality that awaits us beyond the dawn, directly following the journey of the Alphen.
It is also a reflection of the underlying philosophy of the Tales of team that the stories of the characters’ lives continue beyond the confines of the product.
Breaking New Ground
Tales of Arise continues to be a special title in the franchise. “Beyond the Dawn” serves as the first large-scale expansion that directly continues the base story. This proved to only be possible by the love and passion of the fanbase. Look forward to playing this expansion on November 9 and read the full blog details here.
