Rumor: Armored Core 6 Has Sold 2.8 Million Copies
The last installment in the Armored Core series was back in 2013 with the release of Armored Core: Verdict Day which was received poorly by fans and critics at the time. Which caused From Software to shelve the IP and focus on its growing “Soulslike” adventures. Now in 2023, Armored Core 6 has expanded the franchise to an all-new audience. While the title was critically successful, how well did it actually sell? Thanks to one of the voice actors who worked on the title, we might just have a rough estimate now.
Armored Core 6 Strikes Gold
The Japanese voice actor Ryō Shimokawa who played Rusty in Armored Core 6 was on a live stream and shared some interesting tidbits about the game. As translated and shared on Neogaf, it was revealed that according to Shimokawa representatives from From Software had shared with him that the game had sold 2.8 million as of a few days ago. Obviously, this is not as official as a press release from Bandai Namco or From Software. But, it feels likely an official announcement is just around the corner.
From Software has been on an incredible streak lately. They produced lightning in a bottle twice. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice sold 10 million copies and captured “Game Of The Year” at the 2019 Game Awards. Then in 2022, the studio struck gold again with Elden Ring. Which not only captured Game Of The Year, it also sold a staggering 20 million copies. It appears that Armored Core 6 is well on its way to being a big success for them once again.
