The Abyss of Dagath update is available now for Warframe. Bringing with it many quality-of-life changes and overhauls to core systems of the long running title. But the stars of the show were the new warframe, and its signature. That being Dagath, the “Headless Horsewoman” warframe and Dorrclave, a new blade-and-whip melee weapon. These new additions to the massive arsenal available in the game are very strong. Here are our impressions and why you should definitely look into getting them both.
Dagath, the 54th Warframe
Dagath is an unexpectedly strong warframe with a lot of damage output and survivability in her kit. As well as a unique passive that took me by surprise. For starters, her first ability creates a vortex of blades around her like Yareli. However, unlike Yareli, these blades after a few seconds seek out and hurt enemies. It is a fun ability to spam in the midst of combat. Her second ability also works in tandem with the first. Where it basically marks enemies, allowing them to take more damage from the blades while slowing the enemies down. But while this sounds like a basic warframe kit, her other abilities make her very viable.
Her third ability gives her a guaranteed second life when she would normally go down. Afterwards she becomes invincible for a time and gains extra critical damage. This ability does have a cooldown, but it is very “set it and forget it”. Finally, her fourth ability sends fourth a wave of horses that deal massive damage to every enemy hit.
The way her first and second ability synergize. As well as how the third ability can keep her from dying and her fourth ability being able to clean up a field makes her a very strong warframe. Especially since her passive can sometimes triple health and energy orb gains. With a well-rounded build, she can clean up enemies very quickly without needing to use her weapons. The fourth ability even strips armor for endeavors in the Steel Path. But using Dorrclave can definitely keep her alive longer.
Dorrclave and Overall Thoughts
Dorrclave is a well-rounded critical and status effect-based blade-and-whip melee weapon. It meets the criteria to make an even build or you can take creative liberties to lean into one side or the other. But the interesting thing about Dorrclave is its unique effects. For starters, every ten kills you get with it gives it a boost to follow-through as well as guaranteed status effects. This is great if you want to run corrosive or viral damage on it. But when its used with Dagath, it heals her with each hit that lands on enemies afflicted by status effects. Making it a weapon that feels very catered to her, but not completely worthless in other warframe loadouts.
Overall, I really enjoy both Dagath and Dorrclave. Dagath being able to clean out entire rooms with so few chances to go down is incredible. Especially since her health pool is very high with a vitality mod. I love her ultimate as it feels strong out the gate. While Dorrclave feels like a great and unique melee weapon on its own. I also really love how you earn both of them in easy to do missions you only have to spend so little reputation with syndicates to access. I highly recommend you add these to your arsenal.
