How To Still Share Your PlayStation Screenshots On X (Twitter)

It was officially announced this week that PlayStation capture integration with X (formerly Twitter) will officially be going away. On November 13th PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users will no longer be able to share screenshots and videos to X directly from their consoles. This change is likely caused by the significant increase in API fees from X since Elon Musk took over the social media company. These new changes have already driven companies like Xbox and WordPress to drop their integration for social media. Now you may be wondering exactly how you share your gameplay screenshots and videos on X and other social media sites. Luckily enough there is a user-friendly way to do this already. It just takes a few more steps and requires you to have a cell phone with wifi or data usage.

1. Download and Install The PlayStation app From The App Store

Whether you use an Android or Apple device the first thing you will need to do is download the official PlayStation app. Simply search PlayStation on the App Store and it should be one of the first results that shows up. Once you have downloaded it from the App Store on your preferred device. You will then have to sign in with your PlayStation ID. Don’t worry once you’re logged in you will not have to log in every time you use the app.

2. Select The Games Section In The PlayStation App

Once you are logged into the PlayStation app, you will be able to do a wide variety of different things with your PlayStation account from here. Such as browsing the PlayStation store, checking your trophies, seeing which of your friends is online, and much more. However, we are here specifically for your PlayStation screenshots and videos. You will want to look at the bottom bar of the app. Right beside the search option, you will find a button that looks like six little squares. This will bring up your PlayStation game library

3. Select Captures To Browse And Download Your Screenshots And Videos

(PlayStation Capture Screen)

Once you are in the games section of the PlayStation app, you will be able to browse all the games tied to your PlayStation account. But in the left corner, you will be able to access the captures tab. Once you select this you will be able to scroll and select any of your videos or screenshots for download. All you have to do to download them is to tap to select the individual capture then press and hold to save to your device’s storage. It is important to note that currently your screenshots and videos only save for 14 days on the app. This is important to note especially if you take high volumes of screenshots. Then all you have to do is go to your preferred social media platform and upload your screenshots and videos. This is how you can still upload your PlayStation screenshots and videos with a few extra steps. While doing this is not complicated by any means, it is certainly not as straightforward as it once was.
