Warframe: Tonkkatt Build and Review

The Tonkkatt are a pair of new Grineer Tonfas that came out during the new Galleon of Ghouls event. This event is admittedly not as fun or interesting as past events in Warframe. But it does serve as an avenue to get these new Tonfas. The Tonkkatt are cool looking but are underwhelming without a very precise build and warframe combo. Its trait, while it does sound cool, is not enough to save it in my eyes.

Tonkkatt Build in Warframe

Below is the build I have decided to try, this will require at least 3 formas to achieve:

Warframe Tonkkatt Build Recommendation

While the damage output seems low, the idea is very complex but achieves good results. A mix of Galvanized Steel and Elementalist work hand in hand with the Slash and Heat procs. While Blood Rush, and Relentless Combination help to achieve orange crits to boost general damage output with Condition Overload for tankier foes and Magnetic Rush and Melee Vortex for a good speed increase and grouping enemies’ method. It takes a while for the weapon to achieve optimal damage output, and there is a reason for that.

The Tonkkatt’s trait, which gives a small heat damage boost on the weapon with each combo count achieved is a bad idea. The reason being is that if you have Tennokai enabled, you can actually retain your combo count. This works against that idea of the trait as you need at least 2 full combo counts cleared away while achieving more combo counts to get a noticeable damage boost. If the damage boost was a random proc, and not tied to the combo counter or if it was not tied to a duration like the Molt arcanes? It would be a much better weapon to play around with, but the idea seems too situational for general Warframe players.

I do recommend going through the event to get this while you can but just do not expect anything crazy from it.
