TennoCon 2025: Pre-TennoCon Interview with Danielle Sokolowski and Zach McKone

When it comes to Digital Extremes and, subsequently, Warframe in general, one part that players will always be able to appreciate is that they are always willing to listen and act on player feedback constantly. They are never hesitant to respond to burning topics nor secretive when it comes to planned changes or features. Their friendly transparency from Devstreams, Devshorts, or even the weekly Prime Time show is what separates them from the rest of the industry, and with TennoCon 2025 in full swing, two of the most prominent faces for the community, Danielle Sokowlowski and Zach McKone, were able to speak with us regarding the roles they play prior to the event.

Danielle and Zach are the Senior Community Managers for Warframe and are always at the forefront of the Warframe community. Lending their ear to the community and being the voice for the developers to understand what is needed. While Danielle has a 10-year-long history with the company, Zach has half that time at Digital Extremes. This made me want to dig into their history and what separates their individual experiences on a fundamental level.

Below will be our video interview with just the chat that we had, please enjoy!

Exclusive Pre-TennoCon 2025 Interview with Danielle Sokolowski and Zach McKone

When it comes to understanding their jobs, there are, of course, difficult situations involved. During our talk, we went over the process of responding to the feedback on the recent Valkyr rework. Obviously, a controversial discussion can get a bit heated, but it always comes down to the community team to help the players understand that results will be more reliant on the player’s experience. I did bring up the current damage attenuation discussions (which I am on the side of needing to address in situations where it matters most, like the dreaded Fragmented One in EDA), but they were unfortunately unable to follow up.

Circling back to their time at Digital Extremes. Danielle was able to shed light on her 10-year-long experience and being there for every TennoCon and stepping into the Prime Time limelight. Zach shared his experience with starting during the pandemic and what it was like transitioning from a lockdown TennoCon to in-person events again. Both of them definitely hit the jackpot after leaving their respective universities, joining Digital Extremes after being part of a creator program that led them there. With Digital Extremes at the pinnacle of quality content delivery to their fans, new and old, Danielle and Zach will continue to be the bridge for the game’s community, well after TennoCon 2025.

We at Lords of Gaming would like to thank you for your time reading this brief summary or checking out our video interview. Please provide all feedback concerning the discussion in our YouTube comments if you would like. We would also love to thank Digital Extremes for giving us the chance to speak with Danielle and Zach.
