Yesterday, Digital Extremes posted on their official X account the news regarding their next Devstream for Soulframe. This Devstream is going to take place shortly after the one for Warframe, on that day at 3:30 pm ET. During this Devstream, players will get to learn about new and exciting content coming to the game, namely something called “The Veillands”. But something that sticks out in the announcement is the “Open Preludes” tag. A tag that should no doubt generate excitement for those who have not been able to play the game on PC yet!
What “Open Preludes” Means and When It Could Start for Soulframe
For starters, let’s go over how players in the Soulframe Preludes program. You have to sign up on the official website and wait for an invitation to come your way, or find a player with a spare code to get you into the Preludes. The Preludes program is a pre-alpha build with many work-in-progress ideas, content, and systems to test for Digital Extremes moving into full release. With the announcement of an “Open Preludes”, it means that players will no longer need an invitation. This will allow anyone to download and try out the game and support Digital Extremes via the Founders Program if they see fit. But when will that happen?

Well, according to the official news post, there is no concrete date or any real hints as to when the Open Preludes will go live. During the Devstream, that will be answered, but given that their previous Devstream coincided with the release of Preludes 16 last month, the Open Preludes may go live on the day of the Devstream, or sometime after. For more details on the Devstream, you can find the official news post here. As for what the “Veillands” might be? It could be a brand new dungeon, as the previously added dungeon, the Rovgot Ruins, was added a while back in Preludes 14.
