SEGA Announces The Final Games For The Upcoming Genesis Mini

On Tuesday, SEGA announced the final games for the forthcoming SEGA Genesis Mini. In addition to the 40 games we knew we were getting, we have now found out that we will be receiving 2 additional bonus games. This brings the final total to 42 games, which is more than both of Nintendo’s classic systems and the PlayStation Classic. Needless to say, the Genesis Mini is packed to the brim with quality games on release.

Here are the final batch of games:

  • Virtua Fighter 2
  • Monster World IV
  • Road Rash 2
  • Columns
  • Strider
  • Dynamite Heady
  • Kid Chameleon
  • Alisia Dragon
  • Light Crusader
  • Eternal Champions

And the two bonus games are:

  • Tetris
  • Darius

The Sega Genesis Mini will be releasing on September 19th and will retail for $80. The U.S. release will include 2 of the 3-button controllers. 

SEGA also announced a couple of accessories for the Genesis Mini to give you the full SEGA Genesis experience. You can get yourself purely cosmetic mini versions of the 32X and SEGA CD add-ons, with a Sonic the Hedgehog cart to give you the opportunity to recreate the Tower of Power. At the time of writing this article, these accessories will only be available in Japan going for 3,980 yen,(about $37 USD) and will release on the same date as the Mini console.
