Yesterday, LetGoDigital broke a story that a potential PlayStation 5 dev kit design has been patented by Sony. The thing with patents is that they don’t always materialize.
It looks like this particular leak shows a device that exists and developers that have the PS5 dev kit already. This has been confirmed by a developer that is currently working on a new F1 game for Codemasters.
Matthew Stott claims they are in possession of the PS5 dev kit in their offices already and detail what the retail unit might look like. However, bear in mind that dev kits usually look a bit different.
The design of the console is a bit unusual. Especially the central part that is basically an empty space between stacks of ventilation holes. Looking at it you realize that this machine must require a sophisticated cooling system.
