Did Yakuza: Like A Dragon Just Reveal the Xbox Series X Launch Date?

Yakuza: Like a Dragon was a big get for Microsoft at their third party showcase last month but it’s arrival on the Xbox Series X isn’t the biggest announcement the game may be making. The long running PlayStation series was announced to debut on Xbox Series X as part of its launch slate.

In the linked video at the 24:29 mark, Toshihiro Nagoshi, the Yakuza Series Executive Director, speaks about the launch. Now, he is very specific about it being launch slate and not launch window. Three to six months post launch is typically considered to be the console’s launch window.

In a posting on the Microsoft Store, Yakuza: Like A Dragon now has a launch date of November 13th at 12:00 AM.

It seems likely that the store page wasn’t supposed to go up until the big Xbox Series X event tomorrow. However, storefronts have been known to leak dates before, just usually not first party storefronts. We will doubtless know more tomorrow.

Update: In a story on Xbox Wire, Sega confirmed that Yakuza would launch day and date with the Xbox Series X three months ago. The COVID-19 pandemic has obviously changed release dates for many games. Even still, this is another bit of evidence to confirm the November 13th release date.
