Godzilla vs Kong Might be Coming to a Streaming Service

The dominos have begun to fall. It seems that Hollywood Reporter has some news on the upcoming Godzilla vs Kong movie. The movie seems to be coming to a streaming service soon.

It looks like Netflix has offered to get the movie on their service for a cool $200 million. Given that the movie was pushed back numerous times that’s a huge win for the studio behind the film. That deal had one problem, Warner Bros blocked the deal. HBO Max will be the likely streaming home for Godzilla vs Kong. This film could still release the movie when it’s supposed to hit theaters on May 21st, 2021. Given that the domestic market hasn’t been kind to these types of movies, look for a foreign release.

Warner Bros had this to say about the movie-going to a streaming service.

“We plan to release Godzilla vs. Kongtheatrically next year as scheduled.”

All of this comes on the heels of Warner Bros announcing that Wonder Woman 1984 will be coming to HBO Max. That movie will be coming out to the foreign market on December 16th. The rest of us will be able to watch either in theaters or on HBO Max on December 25th. Now that we have possibly two of the bigger summer movies coming to streaming services, it is only a matter of time before the rest show up. Marvel’s Black Widow could be the next movie to get the streaming treatment.
