Halo Infinite Dominates Steam Charts This Week

As we begin to close out 2021 and most major releases are out and in eager players’ hands now. The sales charts for the remaining few weeks of 2021 will be very much influenced by game announcements and of course sales and discounts. With The Game Awards just behind us, it is unlikely we will see any major announcements until early next year. This means that Steam charts will be heavily influenced by discounts and of course holiday buyers looking for that game to get them through the holidays. Buckle up because it will undoubtedly be an exciting few weeks, and already with this week’s chart we can see some games already pushing up the chart.

Halo Infinite Leads The Pack

Halo Infinite Tech Flight

Halo Infinite leads the pack this week as the number one game on Steam for this past week, which should come as no surprise. Even though the multiplayer is free to play, and the campaign is available on PC Game Pass. There are still many PC users who prefer to purchase and play their games via Steam instead of the Microsoft Store. It will be interesting to see how the game continues to track the next few weeks as the holiday sales begin to kick off. Destiny 2 has taken the number 2 and 3 spots this week thanks to its 30th Anniversary celebration. Within this celebration Destiny 2 players will gain access to some unique “Halo-Esque” types of weapons and armor. This event as well as the upcoming Witch Queen expansion later next year makes it an incredibly interesting time for new players to jump in.

The chart also had some consistent games that remain over from last week. Cyberpunk 2077 continues to find a new audience thanks to its significant discount currently on the Steam store. Bundle this with a roadmap of new content and upgrades coming to the game and it’s a recipe for success. Farming Simulator continues to be a thriving title as it still remains on the chart at number 7. The final addition to close out this week’s Steam data is survival horror FPS from developers 10 Chambers Collective. The game was announced to be leaving early access this week at the Game Awards and it appears to have piqued a lot of players’ interest as the game has taken the number 10 spot on the chart this week. It will be interesting to see how all these titles rank next week as we undoubtedly see more games get discounted in the coming weeks.
