The past two years have been incredibly difficult for developers and publishers in the video game industry. In dealing with a variety of challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, many games have shifted and been delayed. The simple fact of the matter is the game development cycle took a major hit and is behind what many publishers and fans were hoping for. Now as we head into 2022 there are many games that we have either seen very little of or do not have a locked-in release date. One of the few releases that have a set date past February of this year is STALKER 2: Heart Of Chernobyl which is set to release this April. A new rumor states that the much-anticipated survival FPS might have a delay incoming.
STALKER 2 Delayed To The Fall?
Ukrainian blogger and Youtuber OLDboi who has been known to cover the Eastern European gaming industry has indicated that a delay for STALKER 2 is incoming. In his video, he states that STALKER 2 will be getting a considerable delay into the Fall of 2022. This means that the PlayStation 5 version of the game could possibly not launch until 2023 if this information is believed to be accurate.
While we are still over 3 months away from STALKER 2′s supposed April release date. Footage of the game has been sparse, which has had fans questioning whether or not a delay was in the cards. The last update from developers GSC Game World was when they had originally planned to bring NFT’s to the game. A feature that they eventually walked back due to public backlash. If a delay was indeed coming for STALKER 2, will undoubtedly have to wait long, but for now its full steam ahead for April 28th. STALKER 2 will be available on PC and Xbox Series consoles launching day one on Xbox Game Pass.
