Long-time developer Quantic Dream announced that it has been acquired by NetEase Games. The developer stressed that despite the acquisition, it will retain full creative control of its projects.
The French studio is best known for its choice-filled narrative titles such as Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, and Beyond: Two Souls.
The developer announced that it is currently working on Star Wars Eclipse. However, despite the announcement, the title appears to be years away from release. This coincides with the massive delays occurring in the video game industry.
The latest acquisition goes to show that consolidation is in full swing with no sign of slowing down.
