Rumor: Pikmin 4 Release Date Might Have Just Been Leaked

Release dates have become an increasingly rare thing in the post-COVID-19 games industry. With so many projects constantly having to adapt to a constantly evolving work situation, many studios were not able to hit the progress markers they had hoped for. This led to a slew of games across many publishers ending up being delayed as they adapted to the situation at hand. With all these delays and the backlash that came with them. Many publishers are intentionally vague with release dates until they know they can almost 100% make that date. However, sometimes retailer leaks can lead to release dates being shown off well before they are meant to be. This might have just happened to the upcoming Nintendo Switch title Pikmin 4.

Pikmin 4 Heading For May Release?

As originally reported by the gaming website Go Nintendo, a Greek retailer might have just leaked the Pikmin 4 release date. Game Explorers is a big gaming retailer based out of Athens, Greece with digital listings of a wide variety of games. On the listing for the upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive Pikmin 4, it lists a release date of May 26th, 2023. Pikmin 4 which is slated for 2023, has no official release window from Nintendo other than releasing at some point this year. A May 26th release date does seem a bit strange, as the highly anticipated Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is set to release 2 weeks earlier on May 12th, 2023.

Nintendo is typically pretty consistent in providing healthy gaps between their big first-party titles. Could this mean Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is possibly delayed? Most likely not, as there have been no industry rumblings about a delay or issues with the highly anticipated adventure game. Only time will tell, and luckily we won’t have to wait too long to find out as Nintendo will likely be talking about both of these games very soon if they are set to release this Spring/Summer.
