How To Skip The First Village Battle In Resident Evil 4 Remake

Resident Evil 4 is where the action really kicked into high gear within the franchise. Survival horror was stripped slightly away for a more action-focused 3rd person-shooter experience. This is no different in the Resident Evil 4 Remake. The major first moment when you realize that combat will be a bigger focus is the battle in the village at the start of the game. This battle is possibly one of the most challenging encounters early on.

You enter the village to find well over a dozen villagers ready to give you the absolute business. On top of the endless stream of villagers, there is also a chainsaw-wielding psychopath that can one hit kill you instantly. It is a very intense encounter that lasts upwards of 3 minutes and feels endless until a bell rings and all of the villagers stop attacking and enter a church silently. It leaves our Leon Kennedy breathless and confused, but it is perhaps one of the most iconic parts of the game. However, if you are doing multiple playthroughs of Resident Evil 4 Remake or trying to accomplish a speedrun completion. This fight can waste valuable time and resources. However, it appears that fans have found a workaround to avoid the fight altogether.

New Resident Evil 4 Remake Easter Egg Discovered

Twitter user KuyaDenzel95 shared a clip that has dumbfounded some fans. In the clip, the player climbs up to the second floor of the building which gives him a clear line of sight of the church. He then uses the high-powered rifle to shoot the church bell. This causes the bell to ring and makes all the attacking undead stop in their tracks and wander off. There are a few caveats to pulling this maneuver off, however. The first is that it can only be completed on New Game + as players so far have only been able to get the shot to land with the high-powered rifle, which you get in a later chapter. This means first-time players will have to experience the chaos of this fight to its full extent.

This is a cool easter egg, that will help speedrunners and completionists run through their multiple playthroughs faster. This will be especially useful if you are playing on the harder difficulties and struggling with this early encounter. Who knows what other cool easter eggs players will find as they continue to run through this game combing through every detail. Hopefully, we will see more secrets exposed in the coming weeks.
